Why Traditional Window Cleaning Gives a Better Finish?

Why We Choose Traditional Window Cleaning

When we're carrying out a first-time clean, or cleaning windows that haven't had much care or attention for a while, we’ll choose traditional window cleaning around 9 times out of 10.

Why? Because we believe that working from a ladder and being nose to glass gives us the best possible end result.

That's not to say water-fed pole cleaning doesn't have its place. It absolutely does, and there are plenty of properties where it's the safest and most practical option. But when conditions allow us to work traditionally, this is where we believe our cleaning really shines.

It's Not Just Soap and Water

We don't just use standard Fairy or dish soap either. We use a combination of this with a specialist window-cleaning liquid called GG4 (Glass Gleam 4). In our opinion, this combination gives the glass that added pop and shine once we're finished, helping to leave the windows looking bright, clear and properly hand-finished.

Sometimes the Squeegee Isn't Enough

Sometimes, using just a squeegee and applicator simply isn't enough.

That's where we bring out some of the more specialist tools in our kit, such as walnut scrub pads and 0000-grade steel wool.

These allow us to carefully work on stubborn marks and build-up on suitable glass, helping to lift away what a standard clean can't. Used correctly and with care, they allow us to gently buff and polish the glass, bringing back that extra level of clarity and shine that we're always aiming for.

Traditional vs Water-Fed Pole Window Cleaning

All of these methods are why we usually choose the hand-finished approach over water-fed pole cleaning, particularly when we're carrying out a new clean or bringing neglected windows back up to scratch.

That's not to say water-fed pole cleaning doesn't have its place, it absolutely does. There are properties, heights and situations where it's the safer and more practical option, and we'll always choose the appropriate method for the job.

But when it's safe enough to do so, this is where we believe our work shines at its best. Being right there, nose to glass, allows us to see exactly what we're working with and give every part of the window the attention it deserves.
